REESE, EFFORT AND GOODLING CAPTURE

                      EBONITE TITLES IN NEW JERSEY

 

 

 

A total purse of $5700 was up for grabs as WASA returned to Brunswick Carolier Zone in North Brunswick, NJ for the 18th consecutive Ebonite

Open sponsored by Mr. Bob Reid, Vice President of Marketing for Ebonite and hosted by Mr. Warren Fiedler, GM of Carolier. 

 

Two-time champion, Jacqui Reese of Phillipsburg, PA, led the starting field, averaging 234 after nine games of qualifying.  With the qualifying

pins dropping in the 6-game round robin matchplay finals and 30 bonus pins awarded for each match won, Jacqui never lost a match but held a

slim lead through the first five games. Seeded fourth after qualifying, defending champion, Jennifer Swanson, Shelton CT, in her semi final

match, shot a 278 game against Darcey Gallogly of Brooklyn, NY to take a 25 pin lead going into the final position round.  

 

In her final match against Jennifer, Jacqui finished with seven strikes for a 248-193 win, taking home her third career title and a check for $900. 

Jennifer settled for second place and a $450 payday.

                    

                     Other finalists in order of finish include Dawn Fay, Manassas, VA, Tomasine Adams, Hillside, NJ, Stephanie Boyer, Odenton, MD and first                       

                     time finalist, Darcey Gallogly of Brooklyn, NY.

                      

                    

 

 

Linda Goodling of Willow Street, PA took home a $225 first place check, a record 14th title, and her second of the 2006 season, as she

averaged 229 in WASA’s monthly senior event.  Linda shot a 1376 for her six game total.  Donelle Effort of Sleepy Hollow, NY (1316) f

inished in second place, taking home $150.  Other finishers include Monica Chieco of Whitestone, NY (1251), defending champion, Glenna

Crockett of Hackensack, NJ (1246), Linda Rose-Keefe, North Arlington, NJ (1213), Olivia Rice, Baltimore, MD (1200), Kathy Jamison,

Westchester, NY (1173) and Rebecca Webb-Daughtry, Mamaroneck, NY (1160). Held in conjunction with the main event, WASA offers a

monthly senior tournament for women who have attained 50 years of age.

 

 

 

 

Ten years since winning her last WASA doubles event, Donelle Effort of Sleepy Hollow, NY stepped back into the winner’s circle, taking

home her first classified title and a check for $220.  Donelle averaged 219 for her six game total.  Lois Steindl of Howell, NJ finished in second

place with her 1264 total.  Other top finishers include, Bridget Bilello of Bayville, NJ (1240), Robin Scott, Ewing, NJ (1236) Victoria Goncalves,

Shohola, PA (1221), Donna Huber, Fairless Hills, PA (1172), Rebecca Webb Daughtry, Mamaroneck, NY (1160) and Leanna Little-Smith,

Bronx, NY (1152).  Also held in conjunction with the main event, WASA’s classified event is open to women who’s average does not exceed 193.

 

 

Marking the 33rd  return and remaining the oldest WASA tour stop, AMF Wallington Lanes in Wallington, NJ will host the next tournament on Saturday, July 8th.  Senior and classified competition will also be offered. Hope to see you in Wallington.
