Terri Bollinger, West Grove, PA, Linda Goodling, Willow Street, PA and Diana Ragusa of Staten Island, NY were all winners of WASA events conducted at Brunswick Zone in Deptford NJ..
After winning the season opener in April’s event in Lancaster, Bollinger made it two in a row as she led wire to wire in the six-game round robin
match play finals. In close pursuit throughout the finals and looking for her first title, Lindy Decker of York, PA lost her fourth and fifth game
matches, trailing by 75 pins heading into the final position round. With 30 pins bonus awarded for each match won, her 227-218 win was not
enough and Terri won her fifth career WASA title and a check for $600. Lindy collected $300 as runner-up.
Sheila Allen of Peekskill, NY, who led after nine games of qualifying, finished third, ahead of Linda Goodling of Willow Street, PA, Debbie
O’Connell, Palm City, FL and Beth Graham, Lane, PA.
In WASA’s second senior event of the season, Linda Goodling of Willow Street, PA won her 17th career senior title and a $250 first place check,
averaging 238 for her 1424 six game total. Defending champion, Jayne Lampugnani of Philadelphia, PA had to settle for second place this year,
as she finished 61 pins behind with a 1363 total. Other cashers in order of finish include Patti Balcomb, Levittown, PA (1285), Linda Rose-Keefe,
North Arlington, NJ (1275), Andi Whitlock, Middletown, DE (1268) and Monica Chieco of
Whitestone, NY, (1256).
Diana Ragusa Staten Island, NY, won $200 and her second classified title for her 1363 six game total.
Runner-up, Patti Balcomb, Levittown PA, finished 78 pins behind with her 1285 total. Other cashers include Andi Whitlock, Middletown, DE (1268),
Lois Steindl, Howell, NJ (1237) and Vanessa Oliver, Bear, DE (1229).
Hosted by Mr. Ron Tilley, Director of Operations for Brunswick Corporation and Mr. Randy Hinkson,
General Manager at Brunswick Zone Deptford, all three events paid out a total prize fund of $4300.
WASA returns to New Jersey on Saturday June 9th for the Ebonite Open at Brunswick Zone Carolier Lanes in North Brunswick.
WASA membership is open to all USBC sanctioned women bowlers who have an established minimum average of 170. Senior events are open
to women who are at least 50 years of age and a classified division is offered to women who finished with an average of 193 or less in the 2005-06
